ABSTRACT: reaction between strong acid water solution and silica chemically modified with methylaminopropyl groups was studied potentiometrically. The reaction can not be described with single constant. Two processes should be counted: 1) protonation of pair neighbouring amines and 2) reaction of charged associate with second proton. From thermodynamic characteristics of the reactions structure o interfacial layer was evaluated. The first reaction does not destroy interaction between neighbours. Second proton promotes significant geometry changing in interfacial layer. No changing in geometry of bonded layer were detected when temperature of media was increased.
