Duration of excursion - 1 day. SOFIYIVKA - the National dendrological park of Ukraine located in Uman' (town in Cherkas area) is a masterpiece of world landscape gardening art. It was built at the end XVIII - first half XIX century and ranking with such monuments park art as garden Baldyi in Florence, park Dignity - Susie in Potsdam, palace-park in Versailles. The park was created as an illustration of Homer poems "Iliad" and "Odyssey" where each composition or small architectural form comprises the certain plan, expresses idea of a myth or any event. The park has been founded by Stanislaw Sheptitsky-Pototsky for his beloved, fine Greek woman Sofia.
